Beginner Halloween Cookie Class

Service Description

Please join me for some fun and learn the basics of decorating beautiful sugar cookies in this hands-on beginner cookie decorating class. I will guide you step by step as you decorate these Halloween Cookies to take home and wow your friends and family. No previous decorating skills are necessary. Over the course of 2.5 hours, you will: • Review Baking Basics (No baking in class) and Royal Icing Basics (No icing prep in class). • Learn about the different consistencies used with royal icing. • Learn to outline, flood, and add details. • Learn to pipe with tipless piping bags. • Learn how to work icing layers for different effects. • Learn wet-wet technique (polka dots, stripes, pulling scribe through). I will answer any questions you may have as well as offer tips for success when making cookies and royal icing at home. All supplies needed for decorating will be provided for use in class. You will go home with 6 decorated sugar cookies, and a copy of a sugar cookie and royal icing recipe will be handed out after class. Classes are held at my home in Elk River, MN. (*Note: Class location has been moved from my kitchen to an adjacent pole shed). Take home boxes for your creations will also be provided. Due to the preparation for this class, all ticket sales are final. In the event you cannot attend class, you may sell or transfer your ticket to a friend. Please let me know if you do so I can update the attendee list. Registration: If you are registering for more than 1 person, I will seat your party together unless I hear different from you. If you and your family member(s) or friend(s) are signing up individually you will need to let me know you'd like to sit together. If I don't hear from you, you will be seated separated in class. Due to safety regulations moving furniture/supplies last minute will not be an option. If 10 students have not registered for this event, I reserve the right to cancel or change the event date. In this case, all tickets will be refunded. Restrooms are not available in the pole shed. However, if you need to use the restroom during class, my assistant will accompany you to my house to use a restroom (it's about a 100-yard walk to our house). Please plan accordingly. In the event I need to cancel due to sickness or an emergency, all tickets will be fully refunded. Cookies are baked in my licensed home kitchen that shares equipment with peanuts, nuts, soy, and other allergens. Cookies contain eggs, dairy, and wheat.
